The Garden

Out the back door and under the drooping limbs of a mulberry tree,

Grandma's garden. That magical realm where summer never ends,
the snap peas are sweet, the tomatoes plentiful, and the corn stands high.

Check here for seasonally available fruits, vegetables, and herbs,

all organically grown, right down to the home-turned compost.

The solstice has passed,

and the new year draws nigh.
Our garden is resting,

its season gone by.

The birds and the bees,
they've all flown away.
Escaping the freeze,
They'll come back in May!

So enjoy the cool weather,

and all it will bring.
Stay warm, and be patient,
We'll be back in the Spring!
